Bourton Country Shoe - Natural Horween (Tricker's Exclusive)

The Bourton is widely regarded as the definitive English country shoe. Built on the 4444 last, it is famous for its generous proportions and "oversized" character. This is a shoe that feels substantial from the first wear, featuring a full-wing brogue design and a bellows tongue that is stitched directly to the upper to keep out the elements. Natural Horween: In this Construct Exclusive finish, the Bourton is presented in Natural Horween leather. Arriving in a pale, creamy tan, this leather is completely untreated by pigments, allowing the natural grain and high oil content to take centre stage. The Patina: This is a "living" leather. It will darken with exposure to light and richen with every mile you walk, developing a high-contrast patina that makes your pair entirely one-of-a-kind. The Pull-Up: Packed with waxes, the leather exhibits a beautiful "pull-up" effect, where the colour lightens and shifts as the leather flexes across your foot. To match its rugged upper, this Bourton is fitted with a Dainite Rubber Sole. The studded design offers reliable grip on slick surfaces while maintaining the classic profile of a leather sole. Finished with a natural leather storm welt, this shoe is engineered to handle decades of wear and can be fully rebuilt by the factory when the time comes. The Description The Leather The Horween Tannery in Chicago, USA was founded in 1905 and is the oldest tannery in the United States. Horween leathers employ traditional tannages and techniques, carefully updated with modern applications. Their leathers are still made by hand, as they always have been. Horween Derby is a vegetable-tanned full-grain leather that is heavily stuffed with waxes and fats and is tumbled to add suppleness and texture. This leather has a semi-smooth, low gloss finish with occasional wrinkles on some parts of the hide. It ages beautifully over time. Need more help? Try our Live Chat . The Sole The Dainite Sole - First designed in 1910, this is a rubber sole with large studs that provide grip - whilst not so traditional, they do provide good all-round grip and durability for most surfaces. Dainite products have been produced since 1894 in Market Harborough, England, near Northampton. The Dainite studded sole is one of the most widely known and used products, with its original design as valid today as it was in 1910. It provides grip and comfort in all conditions while not attracting or storing dirt as there are no cleats or heavy grooves to hold it. Need more help? Try our Live Chat .
