BOURTON COUNTRY SHOE - Black Calf (6 Fitting)

A heavy Derby shoe that bears the brogue detailing synonymous with true country shoes. The Bourton is a piece of Northampton shoemaking history, and today they are the go-to shoe for men all around the world. A full bellows tongue is folded and attached to the shoe to provide a water resistant seal, with the storm welt providing an additional water resistant seal between the shoe's upper and sole. Please note this is an extra wide 6 Fitting version of our Classic Bourton. The Description The Leather A pair of Tricker's in black are undoubtedly the ultimate workhorse - suitable for work, evenings out, or weekend wear. Keep our black well maintained with polish and/or cream and they will just keep going and going ageing beautifully with every wear. This Bourton is made from calf leather. Calf leather is finer grained, and lighter in weight than the hide of older cattle. This means that it is also more supple. It is also very durable in comparison to its thickness. It is part of our history and character as England's oldest shoe manufacturer. The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (4444) is larger than a regular UK size by half a size. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size. Then take off half a size. The Sole The Dainite Sole - First designed in 1910, this is a rubber sole with large studs that provide grip - whilst not so traditional, they do provide good all-round grip and durability for most surfaces. Dainite products have been produced since 1894 in Market Harborough, England, near Northampton. The Dainite studded sole is one of the most widely known and used products, with its original design as valid today as it was in 1910.
